EPDM Liners for Aussie Dams and Ponds
Liners that prevent leakage, look great in the wild and last a lifetime.
We stock USA made EPDM liners by Firestone and AquaTough. EPDM stands for Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer, a type of fish-friendly synthetic rubber. The material is ultra-long life—resistant to UV rays and extreme temperatures—and can be easily manipulated into nearly any size and shape.
Firestone/AquaTough EPDM liner presents a seamless, natural look in your waterbody. Unlike cheaper plastic liners that can fill with air pockets or have unsightly ridges where the plastic has gathered, Firestone/AquaTough’s rubber-made material delivers a smooth, mat-finish look. The liner also looks great in the wild and doesn’t detract from the natural surroundings, unlike plastic liners that can make ponds/dams look unnatural. And with great UV protection (see below), the liner doesn’t fade or deteriorate over time like plastics. So, it’ll continue to look great, even decades on.
Firestone/AquaTough EPDM liners offer the highest level of resistance to extreme UV exposure and temperatures, oxidation and frost. Built from high-grade rubber designed to stand the test of time, Firestone/AquaTough EPDM liner remains durable even after decades of exposure to our harsh Aussie sun. The liner remains strong and good-looking (not faded) even when exposed to extreme temperatures well below 0°C and well above 50°C. And being a rubber material, the liner also has the added benefit of not suffering from microbial attacks or algae growth, which makes it last much longer than inferior plastic alternatives.
Firestone/AquaTough EPDM liners offer unrivalled flexibility while remaining strong and durable. The elasticity of the rubber is retained even at temperatures well below 0°C. This means you can easily stretch the membrane to support all shapes and sizes of ponds/dams in all types of environments.
Safe for humans, fish and the environment
Safe for humans, fish, and plants, Firestone/AquaTough EPDM liners are made of rubber so they don’t leach nasty chemicals into your water or surrounding environment (this is not the case with plastic liners). This makes Firestone/AquaTough liners ideal for swimming holes and fish ponds/dams.
Quick & easy DIY installation
Firestone/AquaTough EPDM liner is extremely easy to work with, making it adaptable to any pond/dam design regardless of the complexity. The high elasticity of the membrane makes the rubber liner easy to stretch and bend while remaining tough and durable. The liner is also easy to cut to size and join together. To join pieces of EPDM liner together, you’ll need the following equipment:
Firestone QuickPrime Plus (3.78L)
Enabling vulcanisation, this primer cleans and primes the surface of your EPDM liner in preparation for joining, seaming or patching repairs.
Firestone Quickscrubber Kit (3 x pads)
Use the Quickscrubber to scuff the surface of your EPDM liner where the seam will go. This prepares the surface of the liner for application of the QuickPrime so vulcanisation can occur.
EPDM Liner Cover Strip Joining Tape
Apply the tape onto your EPDM liner after the surface has been scuffed with the Quickscrubber tool and coated with QuickPrime.
Firestone Silicone Rubber Roller
Use the Firestone Silicone Rubber Roller to seal the seam between two pieces of EPDM liner after QuickPrime and tape have been used to vulcanise the surfaces together.
