Why Choose Rollgum EPDM Liner

Summary

Rollgum EPDM liners are premium Spanish products with uniform thickness, chemical inertness, and fish-safe properties. They offer cleaner installation and aesthetics, long-lasting durability, and versatile roll sizes. They’re a reliable, practical choice for ponds and dams.

Why Choose Rollgum EPDM Liner

When you’re lining a pond or dam, quality matters. A reliable liner protects against leaks, withstands environmental pressures, and keeps your water contained.

There are so many products on the market it can be hard to choose one. We want to explain to you why you should choose Rollgum as your EPDM liner of choice.

Premium European Manufacturing

The US and the Europeans are generally the quality EPDM manufacturers, and the Europeans make exceptionally high-quality products when it comes to liners.

There are some products coming out of Asia on the market; some of the retailers online are saying that they’re made in Germany or various places, but they’re not. They’re sold by European companies, although they’re actually made in Asia. Rollgum EPDM Liner is a Spanish product you can rely on.

Cleaner Manufacturing, Easier Installation

Rollgum liner is produced using high-quality, innovative, environmentally-friendly manufacturing processes. Unlike some other brands, it doesn’t use mica, a chalky powder used by other brands to prevent sticking.

What you get is a clean liner. The mica product, when it comes off the roll, looks like a sort of chalky substance through the liner. Whenever you do a job for a customer and you fill it up with water, the first thing they notice is the chalky stuff at the bottom of their pond. With Rollgum, you don’t get that. Just a clean liner.

It’s not just an aesthetic issue, though. It matters for installation. With other products, when you need to join the EPDM using the tape and primer system, the first step is to scrub the mica off. It’s quite labour-intensive. And you simply don’t need to do that with Rollgum; you can just use a standard paintbrush and paint the primer straight on.

Uniform Thickness

You can get the Rollgum liner in multiple thicknesses — 0.8mm, 1mm, and 1.14mm. Some other products you can get in Australia have a textured liner with dimples all over it. If you get a 0.8mm textured liner, the 0.8mm is measured from the top of the dimple to the bottom of the dimple… but the thickness of the liner on the troughs is much less than 0.8mm.

Rollgum liner is of even thickness throughout. This is important because you wouldn’t want to use a textured liner if you’re worried about rocks. You want smooth, uniform thickness — and that’s what you get with Rollgum.

Safe, Versatile, Built to Last

Rollgum EPDM liners are:

– Chemically inert

– Fish-friendly

– Suitable for wastewater

– Backed by long warranties

Rollgum liners have very long warranties — 10 to 20 years, depending on the thickness of the liner. You can easily transport them, since they come in rolls a couple of metres wide. You can move them on palletised standard trucks, which can save on shipping costs.

Liners are available in different roll sizes, from 3m x 30m to 15m x 30m, so there’s a large variety to suit multiple kinds of situations. You can configure your liner to suit your needs. We really do believe Rollgum is the best quality liner available for most dams, lakes, and ponds.

"Since WQS installed the aerator, we've not had a single algae problem. In our smaller ponds that are too small for aerators we used Biostim pellets on their own and have noticed a huge reduction in algae.”

Andy Hart

Horticultural Curator—Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, Adelaide

“We had a nutrient-rich stormwater lake that was having continuous problems with algae. We were previously treating the nutrients with a liquid solution that would just end up getting flushed away with the outgoing water. Scott recommended we switch to Biostim pellets which were exactly what we needed.”

Giles Pickard

Environment Project Officer, City of Subiaco

“Visiting ducks and our pet geese were continuously fouling the dam. WQS recommended a number of systems to improve the water quality. We are very happy with our final choice, the windmill aeration system. This combined with the Biostim pellets and liquid are cleaning up the dirty dam. Everything WQS said would happen has happened!”

“We had an urgent problem—our old irrigation system had blockages from weeds. Our dam was also riddled with black sludge. Scott recommended both aeration and biologicals and within six weeks the dam became so clear I could see to the bottom of it for the first time in years! I was chuffed that we could fix the issue without the use of chemicals.”
