Centrifugal Fountain

Centrifugal fountains are well suited to larger ponds, dams, lakes, commercial properties, estates, developments and feature waterbodies where the fountain is intended to be a prominent visual feature.

With five spray patterns and motor sizes from ½ hp to 5 hp, the range can be configured for different waterbody sizes and desired visual effects. The largest 5 hp configuration can produce a spray up to approximately 7 m high and 12 m wide, depending on the nozzle selected.

The motor size and nozzle work together to determine the fountain's flow rate, spray height and diameter. The right combination depends on the size of the waterbody and the visual effect you're trying to achieve.

For example, with the Galaxy pattern, the fountain ranges from approximately 4 m high and 6 m wide on a ½ hp motor to 6.8 m high and 10.5 m wide on a 5 hp motor. The Northstar pattern can reach approximately 11 m wide on the 5 hp model.

Regular maintenance helps keep the fountain operating efficiently and maintaining its intended spray pattern.

Maintenance involves checking the water intake, impeller, nozzle, motor, float and electrical cable, and removing any leaves, algae or other debris that may restrict water flow.

The Air-O-Lator motor is water-cooled and oil-free, so it doesn't require oil changes. The fountain also uses durable stainless-steel components and an unsinkable float designed for long-term outdoor operation.

We can also provide maintenance and replacement parts when required.

Many components are designed around the Air-O-Lator system, and the Centrifugal Fountain is particularly flexible because additional nozzles can be purchased and changed to alter the spray pattern.

There are five nozzle patterns available — Galaxy, Diana, Nova, Northstar and Solace — and you can purchase additional nozzles so you can change the appearance of the fountain.

The Centrifugal also shares the same type of float and motor platform as the Air-O-Lator Carnival, which allows the fountain to be converted to an aerating configuration using a changeover kit.

It uses a water-cooled, oil-free submersible motor, stainless-steel components, a durable cable approved for permanent submergence and an unsinkable float with a wear-resistant polyethylene exterior.

Actual service life depends on operating conditions, water quality, installation and maintenance. Warranty terms vary by model, so we recommend confirming the applicable warranty for your particular fountain.

The Centrifugal Fountain uses a square float with tie off points in each corner (total of 4). Anchor each corner using concrete blocks and lengths of marine-grade rope. Drop the concrete blocks into the water approx. 2-3m away so they form a pyramid shape with the fountain being the pointed end of the pyramid. You want a bit of slack to accommodate water level fluctuations but not so much that the float spins 360 degrees when anchored because this could cause the motor cable to wrap around the anchor cables and risk damage. The sweet spot is to be able to rotate the float up to 270 degrees (or less) when anchored. In small dams you can also anchor the float to opposing banks by tying it off to star pickets.

Yes. Lighting kits are available for mains-powered Centrifugal Fountains with both 1-phase and 3-phase motors.

The lighting system uses the fountain's existing power cable, so there is no additional cable running through or around the water. The lights include a photocell that automatically switches them on and off, so a separate timer isn't required.

This makes the fountain particularly effective as a feature in commercial developments, estates, parks and other locations where the waterbody is visible at night.

Yes. This is one of the key advantages of the Air-O-Lator Centrifugal.

The Centrifugal Fountain can be converted into an Air-O-Lator Carnival Aerating Fountain using a changeover kit. The two systems share the same type of float and motor, so conversion involves switching the impeller for a propeller.

This means you can use the fountain as a decorative feature when aesthetics are the priority, then convert it to an aerating fountain when you need to increase oxygenation and water movement.

You can also switch between the two configurations as required, giving the system considerably more flexibility than a conventional decorative fountain.

Yes. The Centrifugal Fountain is available in DC solar configurations, as well as mains-powered AC models.

The solar range includes 1 hp, 1.5 hp and 3 hp configurations with an MPPT controller, with solar panels available as an option. Mains-powered models are available in 1-phase and 3-phase configurations, depending on the motor size.
