The Matala Floating Fountain takes pond ambience to the next level. The fountain is non-aerating, but in addition to aesthetics, it helps reduce water stagnation by lightly mixing the water. Made in Taiwan, the fountains are high quality and striking in design. The compact units house a powerful 180LPM (litre per minute) pump that sits low in the water. Plus, they are super easy to install. Simply anchor your fountain and plug it in.

The lighting kit features 3 x 10W (=30W total) white spotlights which brightly illuminate the fountain. No. The Matala Floating Fountain is a non-aerating fountain, so it shouldn't be selected as a replacement for a dedicated aeration system where improving dissolved oxygen is the primary objective.
It does, however, lightly mix the water and help reduce stagnation as the pump circulates water through the fountain.
If your pond has problems such as low oxygen, stratification, algae or odour and water quality improvement is the main objective, we'd recommend looking at an appropriate aeration system such as our Hakko sub-surface aerator.
The Matala Floating Fountain needs to be securely held in position so it doesn't drift around the pond. There are several ways to do this depending on the site.
For a permanent installation, the fountain can be anchored using three concrete blocks, creating a triangular or pyramid-style arrangement. The three anchor points attach to the fountain's three float sections, holding the fountain securely in the desired position while allowing it to remain floating as the water level changes.
For smaller or more accessible ponds, the fountain can also be secured from the shoreline by tying it off to a securely positioned star picket, tree or other suitable fixed point. Using two tie-off points, one on each side, can help keep the fountain positioned correctly.
The anchoring method should be selected according to the size of the pond, water movement, water-level fluctuations and the location where you want the fountain to operate.
