Replacing a Failing Lake Fountain After 20 Years
A council-owned retirement village, built around a scenic man-made lake in the late 1980s, featured a custom bottom-mounted fountain that had long been a favourite among residents.
After more than two decades, the original fountain reached the end of its life. When it failed, the council found that replicating or repairing the unit was no longer feasible due to upgrades in local power infrastructure and changes to the surrounding landscape.
Residents wanted a replacement that looked and performed like the original, but with easier access for maintenance and improved reliability. The challenge was to find a modern fountain design that preserved the lake’s beauty while addressing the practical limitations of the old installation.
